North Midlands Health Service became a Multi Purpose Service (MPS) in July 2000, thus incorporating the provision of services to the shires of Three Springs, Carnamah and Coorow, covering some 9600 square kilometres and servicing approximately 2800 people. The North Midlands Health Service is located in Three Springs, 170km south east of the city of Geraldton.

We are part of the West Australian Country Health Service - Midwest Murchison (WACHS - MM) and as such follow their policies and guidelines. The Midwest district of WACHS - MM achieved accreditation in 2003.

The North Midlands Health Service provides services aimed to prevent illness, promote health, support individuals/families in their homes, and reduce the impact of disease or trauma and to maintain independence and quality of life for residential aged care facility residents.

Our newly refurbished aged care wing, Morgan House, accommodates up to 10 aged care residents and includes ensuites, extra extensions to specifically suit aged care residents, a sitting room for residents, family and friends, and fresh new décor and colour scheme to provide a more homely appearance.

The local industry is dominated by agriculture in all three shires, and Three Springs has the largest open pit talc mine in the southern hemisphere. The area is renwned for its magnificent wildflowers during the season and there are other attractions for which information can be gained from the Visitors Centre or Shire Offices.

There are many activities for the local residents to become involved in. Sport is always a popular Australian activity and Three Springs, Carnamah and Coorow have it all covered. Activities such as badminton, tennis, shooting, cricket, football, swimming and lawn bowls are all played across the district, to name a few! For the non-sporting enthusiast, there are many other activities such as art and crafts, book clubs and church activities.

The local organisations always warmly welcome new members. The Country Women's Association (in Coorow), Lions Club, St John Ambulance, and Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade all play a major part in the strength and well-being of our community.
